Path to Your License
Follow these essential steps to obtain your full UK driving license
Apply for a provisional license via the DVLA.
Your path to a full license begins with acquiring a provisional driving license from the DVLA. You may file this application online via the GOV.UK platform or by submitting a physical D1 form obtained from the Post Office.
Start your lessons to be test ready!
Once you have your provisional license, you can start taking driving lessons with a qualified driving instructor. During these lessons, you'll learn the skills and knowledge you need to pass your driving test.
Prepare for and pass your theory test.
Passing the theory exam is a prerequisite for the practical test. This assessment consists of multiple-choice questions regarding highway code and a hazard perception test to evaluate your awareness of potential dangers on the road.
Book and pass your practical test.
Once the theory requirement is met, you are eligible to schedule your practical test. An examiner will assess your driving technique and compliance with road rules. Successful candidates are awarded a full UK driving license.
Complete the Pass Plus course.
After passing your practical driving test, you may want to consider taking the Pass Plus course. This course is designed to help new drivers improve their driving skills and confidence on the road.
Renew your driving license after 10 years.
Be aware that a full UK driving license is valid for a 10-year period. The DVLA will send a reminder when your photocard is due for renewal to ensure you remain legally licensed to drive.

Standard lessons are 1 hour or 2 hours long. We recommend 2-hour lessons as they provide better value and allow more time to practice and develop skills.
